From the age of four New Zealand born and raised Ella has had a love affair with surfing. Starting off on a foam body board with guidance from Dad Deano and older brother Braedon, it wasn’t long until Ella was standing up and riding the waves on a surfboard.
When she was just six years old Ella declared that she was going to be a World Champion Surfer, writing this on her bedroom wall so she would see it every day, determined to make her dream come true.
Some twelve years later the passionate and determined “surfie girl” from the small south east coast town of Whangamata on New Zealand’s North Island is the Womens World Junior Surf Champ.
Ella is the winner of New Zealand National titles across all age divisions at a junior level and currently ranked 29th on the World Surf League (WSL) Open Womens Qualifying Series.
Her latest achievement was taking first place the the WSL Womens QS Lacanau Pro in France.
Most days you will find 22 year old Ella checking out her favourite surf break, the Whangamata Bar, and when she isn’t shredding the waves of “Whanga” she is away competing on the WSL Qualifying Series which is held in exotic locations all over the globe.
Ella’s aspiration is to become the number one surfer in the World on the WSL circuit.
She is passionate about surfing and is always ready to share her passion with others, her mantra being #ImagineDreamBelieve.
